"We are very pleased to announce that we have been given the honour of organizing this year’s ISAGA Summer School! The 2016 edition will be held from 11-17 July in Krakow, Poland, where our company, Exprofesso, is based.
What is ISAGA Summer School?
ISAGA has hosted a Summer School each year since 2004 and the ISAGA Summer School 2016
continues this tradition, welcoming professionals and academics to participate in an energetic, highly
interactive week of serious game design. Each morning brings us inspiring lectures and workshop led
by professionals in the field of simulation and gaming and the afternoons are reserved for practical
game development. Proved for its efficiency, the admirable “officina” concept shapes the format for
this event. For the whole week we shall work together to exchange know-how and experiences
among simulations and serious game practitioners, from many different cultures and backgrounds.
This approach brings together various viewpoints on game-based learning from both academic
disciplines and practical applications.
The 2016 Summer School is designed to meet the learning needs of beginners to intermediate level
users of simulations and games. Our focus will be on using the 'officina' model to share and grow
knowledge, so If you have wondered how you might use the principles of learning through playing in
your own professional work, this event is especially for you. If you have tried it, and found there is
more to know, you too will benefit from participating in this highly interactive program. If you are
more experienced and want to know how to extend your skills even further there is scope for you to
share your knowledge with and from our team of international experts.
Where does ISS 2016 take place?

fascinating history is provided by the remnants of the 14th-century fortifications and the medieval
site of Kazimierz, with its ancient synagogues in the southern part of town, Jagellonian University and
the Gothic cathedral where the kings of Poland were buried.
When will it happen?
The event will take place from 11 till 17 July 2016. Please reserve the dates!
